granprix-cha-1924

The chassis design was similar to the 1923 cars, both following the Henry 1922 Sunbeam Grand Prix design, but longer by 4″ in order to accommodate the supercharger; it was also 2″1/2 lower. Small section frame inswept at the rear; hangers for the rear springs mounted on out-riggers. Front axle built up in three parts; centre section tubular. Half elliptical springs all around; spring pads attaching the rear axle white-metaled lined journals to allow for the rotational movement of the axle casing. Axle and steering connections polished steel to enable crack detection. 28 gallon fuel tank fitted with large eared screw cap and additional small reserve tank on the scuttle.
